If it’s October, it’s time to get ready for Christmas! :-) The free Christmas Ornament patterns below will give you and your family a great way to have fun creating (or in this case upgrading) decorations.
I’m an avid crocheter but I also love other crafts – I like to sew and have also dabbled in knitting, macrame, painting, and drawing over the years. Although this pattern doesn’t involve another craft (stay tuned, I have WIPs that do), it does involve something non-fiber…
Today’s pattern adds color and pizazz to solid color Christmas ornament balls. Be sure to get the shatterproof type made of plastic for this project. You can find these where ever Christmas decorations are sold near you, I bought mine at Target.
I used a metallic yarn hoping it would make the ornament sparkle as the Christmas lights glimmer across them. It worked!
This is a free pattern because it becomes more of a recipe that describes the stitch used across each round. The exact number of stitches used will depend on the yarn you use as well as the size of your ornament, so feel free to switch it up and make it yours.
These ornaments are fast and easy to make. You’ll have several made in no time, these would make fun Christmas gifts!

Hi Debbie – Or it might be as simple as refreshing your page, clearing your cache, trying a different browser, or trying from a different device,e.g., if you’re using a phone then try from a desktop/laptop. If the box continues to not appear, you may want to contact Ravelry support for assistance. I just attempted it and the box appeared. There have been 300+ downloads to date (thanks to anyone who has downloaded…enjoy!), so it is working correctly. Keep trying and good luck. Best, Lurdys
