I’m pleased to announce the pattern release today of the Chunky Cluster Baby Cardigan. This pattern which is available in size six months is based on the Mixed Cluster Stitch which creates a wonderfully snuggly pattern when used with the right yarn. For this cardigan, I selected Cascade Yarns Superwash 200 100% merino wool yarn.
I’m in love with this yarn! It worked up nicely, giving the cardigan a little bulk but still has drape. Merino wool is the best wool to use for baby related items because it is soft, isn’t itchy, and will regulate baby’s body heat so that they don’t overheat.
Designed in the raglan style, this sweater is made from the top down. I added a couple rows of color in a different color to add contrast and interest to the stitch pattern.
