I love opportunities to use crochet to help our community and this year I’m supporting the Charity Cozy Fall Makealong, organized by @noorsknits and @knittingwithchopsticks! Both Noorain and Hortense have personal stories and have had loved ones affected by childhood cancer and they have organized this event as a means to give back where it’s most needed. Half of the proceeds from this event will be donated to Cure Childhood Cancer.
Cure Childhood Cancer
Cure Childhood Cancer’s mission is to help fund research for childhood cancer and support the kids and their families going through these tough times. From meals and counseling to financial assistance, CURE is committed to walking alongside families throughout their cancer journey. You can find more information over on their website here.
Charity Cozy Fall Makealong
I’m honored to be one of over 30 designers taking part in this MAL that began on October 4th and ends on October 29th, 2021. Every weekday a new 8 x 8 in. Fall-themed FREE knit AND crochet square by a different designer will be shared and today is my feature day! The free Autumn Bobble Square crochet pattern follows below. Be sure to visit Noor’s Knits Facebook Group blog to learn more about the MAL and to get the other squares then join her Facebook group here to share your squares for a chance to win some fun prizes! You can also share on Instagram for extra entries, just make sure to tag the hosts @noorsknits and @knittingwithchopsticks and use the hashtag #CozyFallMAL!
Happy Crocheting!

Pattern Notes
- Consider using a stitch marker or piece of yarn to mark the first stitch in a row so that the next row’s last stitch isn’t missed. This will help keep the sides straight
- Instead of a CH 2 as the first stitch, I stitch a HDC into the first HDC in the row. This practice also ensures a straight side
- Cut first color yarn after each color change and crochet ends into next row being crocheted

Is there a PDF version of this pattern? Otherwise I have to do a cut and paste for the free pattern. Thanks.

I am confused in row 2 … the text indicates a * at the end of a direction, but there is no beg * … then the REP instructions say to end at **, but there is no **. Please advise!
Lurdys says
Hi Barbara – Thanks for pointing that out, my apologies for the confusion. I’ve corrected the language so it reads correctly now. Best, Lurdys
