Happy New Year!
I hope you enjoyed your holidays! We got our share of rest, binged on movies and television shows (Hot Chocolate Nutcracker, Queen’s Gambit, This is Us, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, and the Home Edit stand out among MANY others, lol), and I crocheted of course!
I’m really looking forward to 2021 and all it has to offer as I’m sure we all are. It’s a milestone year because my younger son will be graduating from high school – how did that happen so quickly?? I’m also looking forward to seeing my family members whom I haven’t seen since 2019. I live in California while most of my family is on the East Coast, Jamaica, or England, so I’ll be doing a bit of traveling.
Although 2020 was a horrible year, one good thing to come out of it for me is this blog. It’s been a great way to connect with other yarnies and navigate through the trials of last year together. I’m inspired and have fun things in store for Crochet & Twists in 2021. I’ll share more regarding those plans in a separate post but for now, let me tell you more about the first activity of 2021, the Valentine’s Day Crochet Blog Hop – 26 Days of Love, hosted by Joy of Anvi’s Granny Handicrafts. I love blog hops like this because you get to see a variety of crochet designers and specialties from around the world. The designers range from well known names in the crochet community to newbies like myself beginning their design journey. From a blogger perspective, it’s been a great experience to work with and get to know others in the crochet community as well as an excellent way to learn about different types of crochet and different approaches. Just like a mall, each crochet designer has a different style, a different vibe although they may be offering similar items – the same concept applies in crochet which is why I love it, the combinations are endless!
