I’m pleased to share a free pattern with you for the holidays, the Christmas Gems Table Runner. While my crochet focus is babywear, I saw Furl Crochet’s wonderful Wander Yarn collection colors and immediately thought a holiday inspired table runner would look fabulous with the colors that I selected. A special thanks to Furls Fiberarts for supplying the yarn for this pattern which is featured this week in the 2021 Furls Blog Hop.

Furls Blog Hop
Most people know Furls for their gorgeous crochet hook collection but in 2020, they launched a blog hop. The blog hop is a year-long event highlighting several amazing designers and offers a weekly free pattern featuring yarns from Furl’s collection. The Wander Yarn collection contains a wonderful selection of 24 acrylic colors. The Thatch, Amethyst, Midnight, and Velvet colors are rich, saturated and look just like jewels under the lights so I thought a nice textured stitch would be perfect. The shell stitch achieved this and then I used alternating rows of double crochet and half double crochet on the border to complement the main pattern.
I love patterns that appear complicated but in truth are easy to make and this table runner is one of them. This specific runner measures 17 x 78 but you can adjust and gauge accordingly to to suit your needs.
If you’re hosting during the holidays or looking for a Christmas gift (or a great housewarming gift), consider making the Christmas Gems Table Runner.
